Born in Rüsselsheim Germany Matthias Vogt is a musical all rounder. He acts as a DJ as well as a jazz pianist, arranger, songwriter and producer. He is a professional jazz piano player, used to work as a music journalist and run his own label. He started deejaying in 1989 and has played nearly all the clubs in the Rhein-Main area since then i.e. Robert Johnson, Monza, King Kamehameha, 50 Grad, Das Rind or Safahi Lounge. He has a monthly residency at Sven V?th's exclusive Cocoon Club. His international engagements took him as far as Japan.

Together with Hanau based producer and DJ Christian 'C-Rock' Rindermann he works on his electronic project Motorcitysoul. After the debut album 'Did You Expect that' released on INFRACom! in 2004, Motorcitysoul has been busy in 2005, doing remixes for Blaze, Phonique, Dublex Inc, [re:jazz], Alex Gunia and Abdullah Ibrahim. Calling themselves 'Kids In The Streets', they recorded the track 'Keep On Turning' together with house legend Chez Damier in the summer of 2005. This track was released at the end of August 2005 on C-Rock's label Stir 15. The track entered the Groove charts, was signed by Ricardo Villalobos for his 'Blue & Green' compilation and was on the playlists of renowned DJs like John Marsh (The Beloved), Ben Watt (Everything but the Girl) and Laurent Garnier.

Last but not least Matthias Vogt is the leader of the accomplished band [re:jazz], who released two albums with INFRACom!. Matthias Vogt transforms originally electronic tracks into acoustic jazz versions, working with renowned musicians like Till Br?nner, Eric Truffaz, Nils Petter Molvaer, Joy Denalane, Jhelisa Anderson, Ultra Nat?, just to name a few. Both [re:jazz] albums were ciritcally highly acclaimed, as shown by articles in die Zeit or Focus; the recent [re:jazz] album 'Point of View' was presented on the TV station 3Sat as album of the week and climbed up to position 11 in the Deutsche Jazz Charts.

In March 2006 the Matthias Vogt Trio will release its debut album 'Changing Colours' on INFRACom!
